ST. LOUIS — Defenseman Cam Fowler has found a home with the St. Louis Blues.
Fowler, who was acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks last season, has agreed to terms on a three-year, $18.3 million ($6.1 million AAV) contract extension with the Blues.
Fowler will have a full no-trade clause starting now, and it will convert into a modified NTC on Jan. 1, 2028 (15-team no-trade list), according to PuckPedia.
“It started with, we really wanted Cam here, we’ve loved everything he’s done and he loves it here,” general manager Doug Armstrong said. “It felt natural when we started to talk that both sides wanted to get something done.”

Fowler would have become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
After arriving from Anaheim in 2024-25, Fowler had nine goals and 36 points in 51 games with the Blues last season. He’s expected to be back in the team’s top defensive pairing with Colton Parayko in 2025-26.
In a 15-year career, Fowler has 105 goals and 493 points in 1,042 games.
The Blues made an under-the-radar trade for Fowler in December 2024, and it proved to be a significant move for the organization.
Fowler has brought veteran experience to the blue line and made Parayko a better player as his partner in the top pair.
After a few down years with the Ducks, Fowler had a bit of a renaissance with the Blues, and while he’ll turn 34 in December, his strength is his skating, which should extend the term of his effectiveness.
Furthermore, the Blues have several young defensive prospects on the way, including Theo Lindstein and Lukas Fischer on the left side, and Fowler should help bridge the gap until the time they are ready.
With the $6.1 AAV and a rising cap, there’s no real risk with this move.
