FARMVILLE, Va.- The Longwood Lancers (3-8, 1-3 MAC) travel to Amherst, Massachusetts, to face the No. 16-ranked UMass Minutewomen (10-2, 3-1 MAC).

  The Lancers are coming off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over Kent State on Sunday.

  MATCHUP HISTORY:

• This is the first time the Lancers and Minutewomen will match up
• UMass joined the Mid-American Conference this year from the A10

 

LAST TIME OUT

• Longwood beat Kent State 3-2 in overtime on Sunday, October 5
• Channy Johnson scored two goals, including the game winner early in overtime
• Zoe Tierney also scored for the Lancers
• Sophie Mooldijk made 15 saves in goal to help the Lancers earn the road win
• Johnson scored Longwood's first goal of the match in the third quarter to tie it at one apiece, and Tierney knotted the score at 2-2 with three minutes to play in the fourth quarter

 

MEETING THE MINUTEWOMEN:

• UMass is currently ranked No. 16 in the nation, with a win over No. 4 Boston College earlier this season
• Currently, the Minutewomen are one of four teams at 3-1 in the MAC, and they are one point behind No. 22 James Madison in the tiebreaker
• Emily Barrett (five goals, three assists) leads UMass' offense and has two game-winning goals to her name
• Gabrielle Benkenstein (three goals, six assists), Neva Eisegna (four goals, three assists), and Fiene Jenniskens (one goal, six assists) all contribute for an offense that averages better than two goals a game
• Myrte van Herwijnen, the three-time MAC goalkeeper of the week, has made 48 saves, allowing only 10 goals against. She currently leads the MAC in save percentage (.828) and is ranked fourth in the nation for goals against and save percentage
• Neva Eisenga also received MAC Defensive Player of the Week (9/16/25)

 

SHE SHOOTS, SHE SCORES:

• Channy Johnson leads Longwood in goals this season, notching six goals and one assist so far. Last match, she scored two goals, including the game winning overtime goal. 
• Johnson has been at her best in her last five matches, scoring five of her six goals and adding one assist to boot

 

SHARE THE LOAD

• In addition to Johnson's six goals, Longwood has had four other players record a goal and six players tally an assist
• Zoe Tierney (two goals, one assist) is second on the team with her two goals, including the game-tying goal against Kent State
• Freshman Aubrey White (one goal), and Hailey Flick (one goal, two assists) have found their place in the Lancer offense, making an impact early in their career
• The Lancers have been at their best in their last five games, scoring five goals in that process

 

SOPHIE THE STOPPER

• Sophie Mooldijk (3-8) has been a steady hand in the goal for the Lancers, making 96 saves with a 0.733 save percentage while playing every minute of the season
• In her last outing, Mooldijk made 15 saves in an overtime win over Kent State
• Mooldijk received MAC goalkeeper of the week honors in week six of the season for the effort against Kent State
• The sophomore leads the MAC in saves per game (8.58) and is sixth in the nation in saves per game
